Insert your templates in new or existing grant cycles. Templates are available for Custom Narrative, Custom Calculation, and Intent to Apply pages.

Step One – Create a Template: A user clicks the Create Template button within a Custom Narrative, Custom Calculation, or Intent to Apply page, names the template, and saves it.
Step Two – Insert Template: When adding a new page to a cycle, a user selects the saved template from a dropdown menu, renames the page, sets the sequence, and clicks Add.
Step Three – Manage Templates: A user navigates to the My Templates tab to view the list of saved templates.
💾 Save a Page as a Template
- Go to Grant Editor → Cycle Pages.
- Select the Program and Cycle that contains the page to be templatized.
- Click the blue ✏️ pencil icon to view the desired page.
- Click the Create Template button (next to Preview Page).
- Enter a unique name (up to 50 characters) in the Save Template pop-up modal.
- Click the Save Template button.
💡 Tips:
- Templates exist outside of specific cycles and can be edited at any time.
- Editing a template does not automatically update any pages already inserted into an application; the edited template must be reinserted to apply changes.
- Edits made to a page after it has been inserted will not affect the original template.
- Custom Narrative and Custom Calculation templates can be used in Interim and Final Reports. Intent to Apply pages can only be used as is.
🔨 Manage Saved Templates
- Navigate to Grant Editor → My Templates.
- View the table of all saved templates for the agency.
- Perform the following actions from the table:
- View: Click the eye icon 👁 to preview the template.
- Edit: Click the pencil icon ✏️ to open the template in the page editor.
- Delete: Click the trash bin icon 🗑 to delete the template permanently.
- See Full List: Click this link in the Assigned Cycle column to see a list of every cycle where the template has been used.
📌 Insert a Template into a Cycle
- Go to Grant Editor → Cycle Pages.
- In the Add New Page section, select a page Type (Intent to Apply, Custom Narrative, or Custom Calculation).
- If saved templates of that type exist, a Template dropdown menu will appear.
- Select the desired template from the Template dropdown.
- Rename the title if desired (the template name will automatically populate the Title field).
- Set the Sequence for the new page and click Add.
📝 Note:
The new page is added to the cycle, pre-populated with the content and settings from the template, and can be edited independently of the original template.
⚠️ Alert:
- Intent to Apply page settings must be adjusted each time the template is inserted.
- Sum Numerical Item (Information) fields on an inserted Custom Calculation template page need to be resaved to confirm the range.
